Indian Pottery & Dolls & Baskets
Kachina Katsina Doll Signed Silas Roy, Katsinam (plural) are Hopi spirits that represent almost every aspect of Hopi life. They are also called the "Cloud People." They appear in dances from December to July each year. The dances are part of the Hopi religious calendar, and important in bringing precipitation for the crops (snow in the winter and rain in the warm months) as well as other blessings to the Hopi people. Katsina dolls are carved to give to children at these dances. Katsina dolls have also been carved for sale since the mid 1800's.

Drawing by N. Poussin, (15 June 1594 – 19 November 1665) was a French painter in the classical style. His work predominantly features clarity, logic, and order, and favors line over color. VERY RARE AMERICAN-MADE REGULATION-TYPE REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD HORSEMAN'S SABER, ca. 1770s: In overall good untouched condition. The unmarked, 24", curved blade with a single edge and fuller: a reinforced back. The brass hilt with a pillow-type pommel, a stirrup-form hand-guard is missing . Fluted horn grip with rounded surfaces. The blade retains its sharp original edge, smooth dark surfaces, even age patina: with minor nicks or dents. Very good hilt and grip. A very rare example of a Regulation-Type American Revolutionary War Period American Saber, ca. 1770s. Overall length, 28 1/2".
